Imagine a world where the sectors of industries are no longer divided, where innovation meets advocacy, where the powers of multiple disciplinaries can be harnessed to combat global issue. Laasya's passion is creating a world like this is a reality, not just a dream.. She is the creator of the Ceres research, which is a project that utilizes artificial intelligence and neural networks for the early detection of crop diseases from images, thus allowing for crop yields to be saved. From this research, she developed The Ceres Organization. The organization encourages the world to solve issues with science and create awareness about food insecurity. For her, the Ceres research is the culmination of her interests in innovation, and the Ceres Organization the culmination of her interests in advocacy.
But her story doesn't end here. She hopes to go to college for environmental engineering and political science. She sees a future where her pursuits in these fields will further bridge the gap between advocacy and STEM, a synergy that our world desperately needs. In a world where policy/advocacy and STEM are not integrated often-enough, her interests represent the beginning of a relationship between these two subjects!
